NEW MATERIAL:The uricase active to effect the oxidative decomposition of uric acid and having the active pH range extending over 5-10 pH. USE:Reagent for the quantitative determination of uric acid. It has excellent stability and high resistance to surfactant. Effective at a low dose compared with conventional reagents. Producible efficiently in a short time. PREPARATION:A thermophilic bacterial strain belonging to Bacillus genus and capable of producing the above novel uricase [e.g. Bacillus sp. TB-90 (FERM BP-795)] is cultured in a nutrient medium, and the produced uricase is separated from the culture medium. The cultivation is carried out preferably at 50-60 deg.C under neutral-weakly acidic pH range for 6-20hr by the aeration and agitation culture process. |
