PURPOSE:To dispense with the accurate setting of a sensor detecting an operated variable of an accelerator operator as well as to improve the setting operatability, by controlling a throttle valve for its opening or closing according to the accelerator operated variable of which minimum value by learning is made as a criterion. CONSTITUTION:At the time of car driving, an operating value V0 of an accelerator pedal 10 to be detected by a potentiometer 12 is taken into a microcomputer 22 inside a throttle control circuit 14, comparing an operating value minimum value VMIN learned so far with the existing operating value V0. When V0<VMIN is the case, such learning that sets the V0 as the minimum operating value is performed. Next, the learning value VMIN is subtracted from the operating value V0, finding an accelerator stroke l. Then, a driving desired step number of a step motor corresponding to this accelerator stroke l is found, and the step motor 24 is driven via a driver 22 according to a control error with the actual driving step number to be found at a potentiometer 28, thus opening of a throttle valve 26 is controlled.
