PURPOSE:To lessen power consumtion by increasing current which flows in an excitation coil when a moving iron core is attracted and on the other hand decreasing current which flows in the excitation coil after the moving iron core has been attracted. CONSTITUTION:A pair of excitation coils 2' and 2' are connected in parallel to form an excitation coil to which a strong operating current is supplied when a moving iron core is attracted. After the moving iron core has been attracted, however, a pair of excitation coils 2' and 2' are connected in series to which a weaker holding current than the operating current is supplied. With this constitution, power consumption can be significantly lessened.
