<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to forecast ice accretion on a trolley wire and prevent damage of a pantagraph and breakage of the trolley wire by measuring resistance value of a simulative trolley wire placed in a place of similar condition with actual trolley wire of electric railway when temperature is below ice accretion temperature. CONSTITUTION:The value of resistance of a simulative trolley wire 5 placed in a place of similar condition with actual trolley wire 3 of an electric car 1 is measured by a resistance measuring instrument 6. However, as the value of resistance changes when water or ice adheres to the surface of the simulative trolley wire, the resistance measuring instrument 6 is so made that it does not work if temperature is not below temperature of ice accretion, that is, below 0 deg.C. A CPU7 that gives command to the electric car 1 estimates the state of ice accretion of actual trolley wire from change of resistance of the simulative trolley wire 5, and thereby gives commands such as 'stop', 'speed down' or 'operate normally' to the electric car 1.</p> |
