NEW MATERIAL:An amidine derivative of formula I or its acid addition salt; (R is H or alkyl; m, n are 1-3; Y is O or S; R1 is H, CN, acyl, aralkyl, acylamino, lower alkoxycarbonyl or CONH2; R2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or lower alkynyl; or R1 and R2 may form together with the group attached thereto a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which may have substitution groups). EXAMPLE:N-Cyano-3-[(2-guanidinothiazol-4-yl)methylthio]propionamidine. USE:Novel, non-anticholinergic, gastric juice secretion suppressing agents. Some of the agents suppress the secretion by histamine-H2 receptor antagonistic activity. PROCESS:The objective compound I is prepared either by reacting a compound II1 with staichiometric amount of an amine III1 or by reacting a compound II2 with stoichiometric amount of a compound III2. |
