PURPOSE:To enable the seat rotation to be effected either manually or automatically as required in getting in or out of a vehicle by providing both a drive means which drives a seat cushion to rotate a seat between the front and an entrance, and a clutching means which disconnects the said drive means from the seat cushion. CONSTITUTION:A round sliding plate 15 which is rotable around a rotating shaft 1, is provided on the upper surface of a base plate 12 which moves back and forth along a rail 11 through a sliding plate 14, and a support plate 16 is installed on the sliding plate 15 so as to support a seat cushion S. A rack 25 is provided on the support plate 16 to be geared with a pinion 24 which is rotated around a shaft 26 fitted onto a support member 2a which is an integral part of a housing. A pinion 32 rotated by a motor 3 for clutching is meshed with a rack 33 which is rotatably connected with the shaft 26. This causes the motor 2 to be displaced while it rotates allowing a pinion 24 geared with the rack 25 to be disconnected each other, when a pin 34 located on the rack 33 comes in contact with the motor housing.
