PURPOSE:To obtain stabilized switching movement by switching a retention chamber to a pump port and a tank port by means of a spool. CONSTITUTION:On both ends of a spool 4 for switching pressure oil flow direc tion, pilot chambers 11 and 12 are provided for operating the spool 4. Adjoining these pilot chambers 11 and 12, retention chambers 13 and 14 are provided. The spool 4 is provided with a switching valve 1 for switching and connecting the retention chambers 13 and 14 to a pump port 5 and tank ports 6 and 7. With this constitution, relationship of forces that move the spool is reversed when connections between the retention chambers 13, 14 and the pump port 5 and the tank ports 6, 7 is reversed. As a result, stabilized switching is attained.
