PURPOSE:To trace the process of an operation with time and to observe the suitability of corresponding the relation between the setting of an exposing range and original size by forming a light transmitting part for dispersing the rays of light to the outside at the time of exposing operation on an original cover and forming an index on the position of an exposing lamp movement returning point corresponding to the original size. CONSTITUTION:At the time of copying, the original cover 17 is opened and an original is set up on the prescribed range part of the upper surface of an original platen 16 on the basis of a scale 16a as a reference. Then, the original cover 17 is closed to cover the original, the exposing range is set up through a setting botton 30 and an running operation botton 31 is depressed. Consequently, the exposing lamp 19 lights up and moves from the arranging position of the scale 16a to the terminal edge position of the original to scan the image of the original. The operator can trace the process of the copying operation based upon the moving light with time. If there is no error between the original size and the exposing range, the exposing lamp 19 is turned off after moving up to the terminal edge position of the original and returned up to the original position.
