<p>The flexible tube for carrying a liquid or gaseous medium comprises a plastic inner tube, with metal layer and a corrugated metal outer tube, the space between the inner and outer tube being used for monitoring the pressure to detect any leak. The inner tube is itself a composite to two extruded co-axial tubes, with metal foil having a longitudinal overlap join (3) sandwiched between, and adhesively connected with them. The metal is preferably aluminium foil 0.05-0.3mm or rather 0.2mm thick copolymer-coated on both sides whilst the innermost and preferably also the outer layer of the inner tube consists of cross-bonded polythene and the corrugated tube of stainless steel.</p> |
