PURPOSE:To prevent disconnections due to failure in torsion of a wire rod by obviating the winding only of a run in which a work to be wound lacks. CONSTITUTION:A mechanical type clutch mechanism A is installed. A spline bearing 15 engaged with a spline section for a flyer shaft 3 is moved vertically by the operation of the pushing and pulling of a cylinder 14, and a projecting section in a housing 4 and a recessed section in the spline bearing 15 are engaged at an upper position, thus bringing a winding device to the state in which the revolving torque of a motor 8 can be transmitted over the flyer shaft 3. Since the engagement of the projecting section and the recessed section is disengaged at a lower position, on the other hand, the housing 4 only races, thus transmitting no revolving torque of the motor 8 over the flyer shaft 3. A projecting section in the spline bearing 15 and a recessed section in the fixing ring 17 are intermeshed at the lower position, thus positioning the spline bearing 15 and the flyer shaft 3 in the direction of rotation. |
