PURPOSE:To enable rapid charging and to make it possible to start timing function after several sec from the point of time immediately after the irradiation with light, by providing a voltage limiter circuit for holding the voltage of a solar cell to he rated voltage of an electronic timepiece and a charge accumulation means comprising a large capacity electric double layer capacitor. CONSTITUTION:When a solar cell part 1 is irradiated with light, the output of the solar cell part is accumulated in a voltage support part 6 through a diode 10. At this time, when an electronic timepiece part 2 is a state prior to the start of operation, an operation stop state is transmitted to a detection change-over part 4 and the voltage of a charge accumulation part 5 is detected during a time when charging to the charge accumulation part 5 is performed and the output thereof is transmitted to a voltage limiter part 3 to suppress the output of the solar cell part to predetermined output voltage. When a timepiece body beings to operate, it is detected that the voltage of the voltage support part is a first set value or more and a switch 7 is opened. When the voltage of the voltage support part is less than the first set value by the operation of the timepiece body during the accumulation of the output of the solar cell part, a charging stop signal is outputted from the timepiece body and the switch 7 is closed and the timepiece body returns to the same voltage value as the state prior to the start of operation. |
