PURPOSE:To raise the recording linear density, and to execute the vertical magnetic recording and reproduction at a low magnetic field, by providing a vertical magnetic head which has been provided so as to be opposed by placing an optical head and a disk between, and so as to scan simultaneously a recording track by coinciding with a converging beam spot. CONSTITUTION:In case when recording is executed to a disk 1, a vertical magnetism is applied to a recording track 4 of the disk 1 by a vertical magnetic head 20, and by synchronizing with it, a laser beam is irradiated by an output exceeding a Curie point by the optical head 10, and recording of information is executed by write of the Curie point. Next, in case when reproduction is executed, the optical head 10 is turned off, information which has been read and recorded by an electrostatic capacity system is reproduced by only the vertical magnetic head 20. In case of erasing the recorded information, it is executed by applying a diamagnetic field to a recording magnetic layer by the vertical magnetic head 20, irradiating an optical beam to the disk recording surface by the optical head 10, and inverting the magnetization. The erasion is executed by controlling an output of the laser beam to a compensating temperature, and making a spot of the optical beam follow the recording track.
