PURPOSE:To solve the problems such as the low response speed and low contrast which the conventional electrochromic element has by disposing a pair of fully solid-state electrochromic elements on both sides of the front and rear of a base body. CONSTITUTION:This structural body has the constitution in which 1 pair of electrochromic elements is disposed on both sides of the front and rear of the base body. More specifically, for example, ITO films 2a, 2b are formed by a reactive ion plating method on the transparent base body 1 then IrOx films 5 is formed by a reactive sputtering method. Insulating layers 6a, 6b consisting of Ta2O5, etc. and the 2nd electrochromic layers 7a, 7b consisting of WO3, etc. are further successively formed by, for example, an electron beam vapor deposition method and thereafter an upper counter electrode consisting of an ITO film is formed by, for example, a reactive ion plating method. The response speed and contrast are thereby much improved.
