PURPOSE:To aim at miniaturization in a paper feeding device, by installing a mechanism which performs paper feeding motion of a paper feed roller and lifting motion of a hopper table with the same driving part. CONSTITUTION:When a driving motor is rotated clockwise, a paper feed roller shaft is driven for rotation in an (a) direction whereby paper feeding motion by a paper feed roller 10 takes place. At this time, a rotary shaft 13 to be connected to a hopper table pulley 12 is not rotated in the (a) direction, therefore power is not transmitted to this shaft 13 so that a hopper table 17 is pushed upward by energizing force of a spring 18, and the paper feed roller 10 makes a bookmark 11 press it. In addition, when the driving motor is rotated counterclockwise, the rotary shaft 13 is driven for rotation in a (b) direction, and the hopper table 17 is pressed downward by a lifting roller 16. At this time, the paper feed roller shaft is not rotated in the (b) direction whereby power is not transmitted to the roller 10, so paper feeding motion is in stoppage.
