PURPOSE:To obtain a self-supporting type optical cable which has high reliability for a long period by reducing a tensile force to be loaded on an optical cable core owing to a laying tensile force during stringing operation. CONSTITUTION:An extruding coater 5 employs what is called a pipe extrusion coating method so as to prevent a extruded coating 4 from contacting a subsidary wire and also employs a pressure extrusion coating method for the coating 4 on the side of the optical cable core 3 so that the coating 4 contacts the optical cable core 3. This is adjustable by devising the shape of an unshown uip which guides the subsidary wire 1 and optical fiber core 3 and the saheo shape of an unshown dice which forms the coating 4. Only the coating 4 is cooled and then heated only around the subsidary wire 1 by a heat press- contacting machine 7, and the heated part is clamped with a proper clamping force to unite the movable subsidary wire 1 and coating 3 together by press contacting. |
