USE:Useful as a synthetic intermediate for 4-hydroxy-2-cyclo-pentenone compound having a prostaglandin A-mimic structure and having carcinostatic, antiviral and antibacterial activities, etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula V which is one of the compounds of formula I can be produced by reacting the compound of formula III (R<3> is OH-protecting group) with the reagent of formula IV. |
