PURPOSE:To reduce power loss by bringing both series regulators to a saturated state when control voltage is kept within a predetermined range and bringing only the series regulators to a linear state when control voltage exceeds the predetermined range. CONSTITUTION:A switch (s) is fitted to a DC voltage source S through a primary winding P for a power transformer Tp, and the switch is controlled by a pulse width modulator PWM. Positive and negative DC voltage is generated through a rectifying means d2-d3', inductors Lc, Lc', and output capacitors C, C' from secondary windings S1, S1' for the transformer Tp. The DC voltage is adjusted by series regulators R, R'. The regulators R, R' are each constituted by current transformers T1, T1', bridge rectifiers 22, 22', transistors Q, Q', and error amplifiers EA, EA', and controlled by an output A0 from an operational amplifier A. When the output A0 exceeds several reference potential r1, r2 on the control of the regulators, the regulators R, R' are controlled to a linear state.
