PURPOSE:To make possible the production of a woven or knitted material by plating metal such as copper or zinc to a hoop material consisting of an amorphous alloy and slitting further the amorphous material to a fine yarn shape. CONSTITUTION:Oxides and impurities are removed from the surface of the amorphous alloy hoop material by using mixed acids of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, etc. and activator after the stage for degreasing and washing the material. The hoop material is then subjected to copper plating in a plating bath of copper sulfate and sulfuric acid after an electrolytic activation stage and copper strike plating. The copper-plated hoop material is slit to the yarn shape by a slitting machine and the slit materials are taken up on bobbins. The fine and soft amorphous alloy material is obtd. by the above-mentioned method and therefore the woven or knitted amorphous alloy material is easily produced.
