PURPOSE:To speed up correcting process such as edge emphasis, removing of isolated points etc. by providing a correction processing section in the data bus of a memory. CONSTITUTION:Picture signals 2 from a CCD sensor 1 are A/D converted, and in case of binary signals, linear density conversion processing is made, and supplied to a correction processing section 7 through a data bus 6. The processing section 7 transfers them to a memory 11 through the bus 6 and a system bus 9 of a mu CPU 10 after removing isolated point such as soil etc. On the other hand, in case of multivalued signals, they are binary coded after arithmetic process of edge emphasis by the processing section 7, and linear density converted by the processing section 5 and transferred to a memory 11.
