PURPOSE:To check an error information without hearing an actual sound by inputting the error information as well as a time code signal given from a PCM tape recorder and delivering the result of measurement having the correspondence secured between the time code signal and the error information. CONSTITUTION:The remote control signal is supplied to a PCM tape recorder 2 from the CPU 10 of an error information checking device 1. Then the time code recorded on a magnetic tape is extracted and reproduced. Thus the time code signal TC is supplied to a time code reader 11. The signal converted into a binary code is supplied to the CPU 10, and the CPU 10 checks the presence or absence of the defect of the time code signal. While the recorder 2 reproduces the digital audio signal recorded on the tape. Then an error is detected at every CRC block and a CRC flag is supplied to a counter 12. The CPU 10 secures the correspondence between the signal TC and the error information and supplies them to a printer 3 as the display data. In such a way, the error information can be checked without hearing the actual sound.
