摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately decide the top and reverse surface of a sheet of paper, and to execute aligning of the papers by providing a block circuit and deciding that the paper is with its top surface up in case of the edge part where the address information is aligned is on the lefthand side, and that the paper is with its reverse surface up when the edge is on the righthand side. CONSTITUTION:Read signals from reading parts 14 and 15 are inputted to a switching output part 66 via picture memories 61 and 62. The output part 66 supplies the inputted signals to the block circuit 67 by a switch signal supplied by a control part 42. The circuit 67 generates a mask with respective black bits in accordance with the supplied picture information, makes a group of the said masks one piece of block, and judges a block of plural lines of address from this block pattern. In case where the lines of the judged address-block are aligned at their lefthand side ends, a top surface-up decision signal is outputted, but the alignment is on the righthand side, a reverse surface-down decision signal is outputted. In such way, the top surface and reverse surface of a paper is accurately decided and the aligning of papers is exactly executed.
