PURPOSE:To keep caustification reaction rates high without limitation to the grain size of iron oxide particles by providing a fluidized bed reactor to keep solid powder collected in cyclone in a high-temperature, high-enzymic atmosphere in the downstream of the cyclone. CONSTITUTION:Reacted and unreacted iron oxide particles and unburned carbon particles are discharged from a burning furnace, collected in a cyclone 6, and dropped into a subordinate fluidized bed reactor 10. Air is charged into an air port 11, and these particles are contacted with high-temperature oxygen in sufficient amounts in such a way as to burn out unburned carbon and also to process the reaction between iron oxide and alkali to sufficient extent, where air so charged is discharged with combustion gases from a waste gas outlet 12 and the particles so burned and reacted are again returned through an overflow pipe 13 to the reactor 1. The circulating particles serve as to keep the temperature of a circulating fluidized bed burning furnace uniform, stably burn the waste liquid, and enable alkalis in the waste liquid to be collected by the iron oxide particles. The particles discharged from a particles discharging device 15 to the outside of the circulating system are sent to the following process, e.g., caustification process, etc.
