PURPOSE:To identify the authenticated holder of an ID card without password number by storing the fingerprint-image of the holder and encoding the image by the titled collator to collate it with the image stored in the ID card. CONSTITUTION:A thin type semiconductor ROM element 2 is fixed in the center of the inner layer of the plastic laminated base 1 of the ID card. When a blank ID card is inserted into an ID card issuring machine and a sheet fingerprint is stamped is inserted from the dedicated inlet, an inner encoder reads the fingerprint image on the sheet in form of a digital data, and stores it in the ROM element in the ID card. When this ID card is inserted in the collator 20a, a card reader device 12a takes out the fingerprint image data stored in the ROM element in the ID card. In the mean time, when a fingerprint is stamped on a roll sheet, a fingerprint image encoding device 13a encodes it, and stores it in a control device 11a. The both images of the fingerprint are compared by a comparator, and will be identified to be ones of the same person. |
