PURPOSE:The titled varnish, containing a petroleum resin derivative, alpha,beta-unsaturated monomer and redox based curing catalyst, having improved room temperature curability and useful for impregnating and insulating treatment and finishing of coil parts for electric and electronic equipment. CONSTITUTION:A varnish obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. petroleum resin derivative prepared by reacting (i) a hydroxyl group-containing petroleum resin which is solid at room temperature having >=40 deg.C softening point with (ii) an isocyanate compound containing a polymerizable unsaturated group in an amount of 0.2-2 isocyanate group equivalents based on one equivalent hydroxyl group in the component (i) with (B) 50-500pts.wt. alpha,beta-unsaturated monomer and (C) a redox based curing catalyst consisting of combination of one or two or more consisting of the group of hydroperoxides and peroxy esters and at least one consisting of the group of organic acid metal salts.
