<p>PURPOSE:To make unnecessary complicated processing for function designation and to improve the operability of the titled device by processing the character inputted to a certain input area on an input means as it is by the function corresponding to the area as it is. CONSTITUTION:A recognizing processing circuit 7 receives the stroke information and the input section information concerning which input section the stroke belongs to, from an input section discriminating circuit 6, and executes the signal judgment from a processing registering discriminating circuit 9. Here, when the processing registering signal is received, the sent stroke information is recognized as related to the processing registering, the result is sent to a processing registering memory circuit 10 together with the input section information, thereby, the registering of the processing contents to the input section is executed. On the other hand, when the signal that the usual character input is executed from the circuit 9 is received, the processing registered beforehand in accordance with the input section information from the circuit 10 is inputted, in accordance with the designation, the recognizing processing of the input character is executed, and the recognizing result is sent to an editing processing circuit 8 together with the input section information.
