PURPOSE:To obtain an epoxy resin composition giving a void-free part for high-voltage use having excellent moisture-resistance, by compounding an epoxy resin with aluminum hydroxide powder having a specific particle diameter, red phosphorus powder having a specific particle diameter and surface-treated with aluminum hydroxide, and an acid anhydride hardener at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100pts.(wt.) of an epoxy resin with (B) 50-220pts. of aluminum hydroxide powder having an average particle diameter of 8-12mu and containing <=5(wt)% particles having particle diameter of <=3mu, (C) 10-30pts. of red phosphorus powder treated its surface with aluminum hydroxide, having an average particle diameter of 10-40mu and containing <=5% particles having particle diameter of <=3mu, (D) an acid anhydride hardener (e.g. modified methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride, etc.) (0.8-1.2 acid anhydride equivalent based on 1 epoxy equivalent of the component A) and, if necessary, (E) a small amount of cure accelerator (e.g. 2-methylimidazole).
