PURPOSE:To obtain a hair tonic containing a specific fraction of the extract of YOKUININ (adlay seed) as an active component, effective to prevent and cure the dandruff, itchiness, falling of the hair, etc., and exhibiting excellent trichogenic and hair-growing effect. CONSTITUTION:For example, raw or dried YOKUININ is extracted with an aqueous solution of an alcohol having a concentration of >=50wt% (preferably 50-80% ethanol solution), optionally the extract is filtered, and the filtrate is concentrated by removing the solvent to obtain the YOKUININ extract (F-2 fraction) having a mol.wt. of <=1,500. The extract is used as an active component of the objective hair tonic. A transparent hair tonic can be prepared by the use of the F-2 fraction. |
