PURPOSE:To perform machining in good efficiency, by providing an auxiliary ion exchanger, which can rapidly increase specific resistance in a machining fluid tank, so as to enable a machine to reduce its operating time for an ion exchange when the machine changes a machining stage and the material of a work. CONSTITUTION:A machine, closing an opening and closing valve 19 while setting a preset value of a setter 22a by a specific resistance controller 44 to a value suitable for a machining stage and starting a pump 15 by a detecting signal of a sensor 20 through a controller 27 to circulate machining fluid in ion exchange resin 16, removes ion in the machining fluid in a machining fluid tank 8. The machine, when its operation is transferred to intermediate machining and finishing or the like, operates a pump 41 to be also started in an auxiliary ion exchanger 43 simultaneously with the before said operation, and specific resistance of the machining fluid in the machining fluid tank 8 is rapidly increased. The auxiliary ion exchanger 43 is left as normally stopping during machining, but the machine, during its machining, may be enabled to perform operation for the next machining by providing one more machining fluid tank.
