This fastening device comprises an expansible member 15 capable of penetrating at least partially into an orifice 16 formed in a tube plate 2 of a steam generator of a pressurised water nuclear power station, so as to allow a remote manipulator to be fastened under the tube plate, a box 17 providing for the suspension of the said remote manipulator, and means 18, 20, 26, 40, 46, 50, 51 for automatically or manually actuating the expansible member. This expansible member 15 is mounted so that it is free to move axially with respect to the said box 17, and means 20, 26, 40, 46, 50, 51 are provided for bringing the said box 17 into abutment against the tube plate 2 after the said remote manipulator has been fastened. <IMAGE>
