NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> and R<2> represent the formula -B-R<6> (B represents straight chain or branched lower alkylene which may have a single or double bond; R<6> represents aryl or heteroaryl), 1-10C alkyl, etc.; R<3> represents lower alkyl, imidazolylmethyl, etc.; R<4> represents isopropyl, phenyl, etc.; R<5> represents OH, 1-10C alkoxyl, etc.; A represent single bond, O or S] and its salt. E X A M P L E : N - [ 2 - ( 1 - Naphthyl)methyl-3-(1-naphthyl)propionyl]-L-h-istidyl-(3S,4S)-4-amino-3 -hydroxy-6-methyl-heptanoic acid S-(-)-2-methylbutyramide. USE:Useful for diagnosis and remedy of hypertension, since it exhibits renin inhibitory activity. PREPARATION:A carboxylic acid expressed by formula II and its reactive derivative are reacted with a compound expressed by formula III according to the peptide synthesis method such as an azide process, for example, to obtain the compound expressed by formula I. |
