发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify a process as compared with TN liquid crystal and to maintain reliability for a long period by using ferrodielectric liquid crystal as liquid crystal and using one polarizing plate, and forming a reflecting plate on the reverse side of one electrode. CONSTITUTION:The ferrodielectric liquid crystal (FLC) is used as the liquid crystal, and an opposite substrate 20' has the polarizing plate 30 on one surface and a counter electrode 24 on the other surface. Aluminum is sputtered on an electrode 23 for reflection on polyimide resin on the substrate 20 to a thickness of 0.1-0.3mu to form a reflecting plate and incident light 100 in the visible light range is reflected light 100'. Thus, the FLC is used to decrease the number of parts as compared with TN liquid crystal and the manufacture process is simplified. Further, the electrode 23 for reflection does not contact an atmosphere, so it is never oxidized and a reflection factor is held high for a long period to maintain the reliability.
