PURPOSE:To obtain the titled slub yarn having a strength of practical level, by using the first godet roll having mirror-polished surface and the second godet roll having satin-finished surface, taking up a molten spun yarn and drawing the yarn between said rolls at a specific draw ratio. CONSTITUTION:A melt-spun polyester yarn is wound round the first godet roll 6 at a speed of <=4,000m/min and drawn between the first godet roll 6 and the second godet roll 7. The first godet roll 6 has unheated mirror-polished surface and the second godet roll 7 has satin-finished surface. The draw ratio (y) is selected to satisfy the formula 1.91-2.2X10<-4>x<=y<=2.98-4.5X10<-4>.x [x is take-up speed (m/min)].
