PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in machining accuracy and the breakage of a tool by detecting the position of a cutting tool, selecting a small set power value when the tool is positioned in an area of a small cutting resistance, and controlling a feed speed. CONSTITUTION:When a set position inputted in position setting device 11 agrees with the position of a cutting tool detected by a position detecting means 16, a selection command is outputted from a position setting value selecting device 15 to a cutting power set value selecting device 18 by the command of a position comparing device 17. Based on this command, judgment is made whether the position of a cutting tool is in a part in which cutting resistance is small and, when it is in the part of small cutting resistance, the set value of a cutting power is changed from a high set value hitherto used to a set value one step lower. The selected power value is outputted to a subtracter 19 and the difference between the selected value and an actual cutting power which is detected by a cutting power detecting means 20 provided for a cutting device 13, is operated, to make a feed speed control unit 21 control the feed speed of the device 13.
