PURPOSE:To detect whether there is a body or not accurately by varying the quantity of light at the light emission side of an optical detection system, bit by bit, and storing the sense level of a sensor, and further storing the permissible range of the sense level previously. CONSTITUTION:A detection part check circuit checks and stores the sense levels of sensors 9 and 10 in the starting section (A) from power-on or resetting operation to the output of the 1st carry signal 110 from a counter 3, and detects whether there is a body between LEDs 7 and 8 and sensors 9 and 10 or not on the basis of an optimum slice level calculated previously corresponding to the sense levels stored in the 1st section from the output of the 2nd or succeeding carry signal 110 from the counter 3 to the output of the next carry signal 110, thereby outputting '1' as detection signals 118 and 119 when there is the body or '0' when not. Further, a resetting indication is generated by a microprocessor, etc., when necessary to detect accurately whether there is the body or not by re-storing sense levels even if the sense levels vary. |
