PURPOSE:To visually confirm the overlapped width of tools, interference due to the projecting surface of a workpiece, and a final contour form by distinguishing necessary tracks and tool-diameter width areas in the additional lines to tool diameters, in accordance with the types of machining, and overlappedly displaying them on a CRT display. CONSTITUTION:The track 41 of a tool center, tool diameter circles 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D at the turns 43A, 43B, 43C, 43D of machining respectively, and additional lines 44a, 44a' and 44c, 44c' to tool diameters in two processes from 43A to 43B, 43C to 43D respectively, are distinguishably displayed in different types of lines and different colors of lines respectively. Further, tool diameter width areas enclosed by tool diameters and tool-diameter additional lines are also distinguishably displayed as shown in both right-down hatching and left- down hatching in accordance with processes, and the cross hatching part in which both hatchings overlap, indicates the overlapping width of tools, distinguishably displaying the part from the tool diameter width area. Thereby, an operator can watch a CRT image screen at the intersecting points 55B, 55C of the tool diameter additional lines, and visually confirm the overlapped width of tools and the final contour form easily.
