PURPOSE:To isolate a steering column from possible vibration so as to enhance stiffness by fixing a stay at a junction point between an upper and a lower half so as to secure a bracket of the steering column at the said junction point. CONSTITUTION:An upper half 4a of a steering hangar 4 is fixed on the front surface of a cross member 1, and a lower half 4b is similarily fixed on the lower surface of the cross member. These upper and lower halves 4a and 4b are connected together at their free ends in forming roughly a triangle configuration. And a stay 5 made of a hollow steel pipe, the end of which is formed into a rectangular form in cross section, is bolted (7) together with a junction point 4c, that is, an anpex of the above said triangle, through a bracket 6 which is integrally fixed on one end of the stay 5.
