Filter-presses (for the separation of the solid and of the liquid from an industrial slurry) with plates and frames or chambered plates in which the plates comprise, made of rigid material, only a surrounding restricted to the surfaces of contact of the said plates. Each of them comprises two frames 1, a shaped component 5 with flat 5a, curving for the discharge of the filtrates, two corrugated or "lozenged" membranes 4. Alternatively: - a smooth membrane replaces one of the corrugated membranes, the shaped component being cut for this purpose; - the components of the surrounding form a block, the membranes being limited to the inside of the surroundings and secured by peripheral frames; - the said block is reduced, the shaped component being separated and secured by a flange to the remaining part of the block. The cake 8 is formed in a frame 9 or in the opposed chambers of two continuous chambered plates, on filter cloths 11. <IMAGE>
