PRODUCTION OF ELECTRODE PLATE FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To decrease voltage drop and to make low-voltage driving possible by forming a color filter by a mask dyeing method and consisting the filter itself of an oriented film thereby reducing the thickness of the filer. CONSTITUTION:A resin layer having 0.3-0.9mum film thickness is provided on a transparent substrate 11 provided with transparent electrodes 12 and a mask for an R pattern is exposed thereon. The resin layer is then developed to form a mask 4. The mask is dyed to a rod color (R) to form the R pattern. The patterns of green and blue colors are similarly formed by said mask dyeing method to form the color filter 13. The surface thereof is rubbed by a roll 15 made of 100mum nylon and is thereby oriented. The need for the oriented film is thus eliminated and the filter itself is made smooth and thin. The voltage drop by the thickness is decreased and the low-voltage driving is made possible.
