PURPOSE:To enable a belt to be interchanged without interrupting a rolling operation in a roll grinding device of a rolling mill by moving only a cartridge provided with grinding belt taking-up and unwinding devices widthwise of a rolling material when the grinding belt is interchanged. CONSTITUTION:A grinding device body 10 is provided on the operation side with a cartridge frame of a cartridge 8 which is fitted slidably on drive shafts 45, 46 having a polygonal section. When a grinding belt 9 is interchanged a grinding belt pressing member 32 and others are retreated to the rearmost position by a hydraulic pressure cylinder 39 to stop the grinding device body 10 at a predetermined position and move the cartridge frame to a predetermined position at the rolling mill operation side by the hydraulic pressure cylinder. When the cartridge 8 reaches a predetermined position, reel drums 64, 65 to be removed are suspended by a crane or the like to take the drive shafts 45, 46 out of the cartridge frame and set new reel drums 64, 65 to the cartridge frame. |
