PURPOSE:To obtain proper exposure without reference to the position of a main subject in a photographic plane by providing a light measuring device which measures the narrow angle part of a photographic plane area, a light measuring device which measures the light of the photographic plane are uniformly, and four decision levels. CONSTITUTION:When the comparator of a light emission stop signal generating means 4 detects the output of a device 1 is which measures the light of the narrow angle part of the photographic plane area exceeding a narrow angle light measurement output Vr (Vr>Vs) or when a comparator 6 detects the output of the 2nd light measuring device which measures the light of the photographic plane area uniformly exceeding a mean light measurement output Vr' while a comparator 3 detects the output of the 1st light measuring device 1 exceeding the 1st decision level, the strobe light emission stop signal is outputted. When a comparator 7 detects the output of the device 2 exceeding a decision level VA (VA/Vr') while the comparator 3 detects the output of the device 1 not exceeding the level Vs, the light emission stop signal is outputted. Consequently, overexposure is evaded without reference to the position of the main subject in the photographic plane.
