PURPOSE:To surely detect the foam intruded into a liquid flow passage system and to quickly remove the foam prior to measurement by removing the foam in the flow passage by a pump mechanism connected to the liquid flow passage in accordance with the foam detection signal from a sensor for detecting the intrusion of foam attached to the liquid flow passage system. CONSTITUTION:The flow passage from a sampling nozzle 4 to a deaerated water nozzle 5 is filled with deaerated water A in the initial state. A solenoid valve 3A is changed over to a tube 8C side and the sampling nozzle is lowered into a sample cup contg. a sample. A syringe 1 is operated to make suction, by which the sample is sucked through the nozzle 4 into the tube 8C. The suction operation of the syringe 1 is stopped upon ending of the suction. The solenoid valve 3A is changed over to the tube 8B side and the solenoid valve 3B to the tube 8E side to connect a pump 7 for removing foam to the nozzle 4 via the tubes 8C, 8B, 8E if the foam intrudes into the tube 8C and when the intrusion of the foam is detected by the sensor 6 in the above-mentioned operation. The pump 7 is thereafter driven by the signal from the sensor 6, by which the foam in the tube system is removed. |
