A refrigerator or deep-freeze having a heat-insulated housing, the door of which controls a switching element with a warning device, which emits an optical and/or acoustic signal after a time delay if the door is left open or not closed properly. In this arrangement, the switching element (20) can be set between two switching states which are assigned to different opening angles of the door (13) and make the warning device (23) respond with a different time delay when the door (13) swings.
