Silo which has the shape of a regular n-gon with sector- shaped segments, the individual segments consisting of funnel-shaped parts which are closed by a slitlike opening. At the slitlike opening there is arranged an outlying roll 1 with projection 2, in that the projections 2 co-operate with a flexible plate 3 lying opposite the roll 1, so that this is periodically moved by the projections 2 away from the roll and thereby opens up an exit slit for the material placed in the container. In this way, the silo can be emptied in controlled fashion, without the apparatus being complicated by this. If necessary, a conveyor can be arranged underneath the outlying roll. <IMAGE>
