In order to produce the disclosed binders, a diepoxy compound is transformed optionally together with at least one monoepoxy compound in a polyaddition carried out between 100 and 195C and started by a monofunctional reactor starter carrying an alcoholic OH group, a phenolic OH group or a SH group, into an epoxy resin which is further modified with (A) primary and/or secondary amines or salts thereof and/or the salt of a tertiary amine, an acid/sulphide mixture or an acid/phosphine mixture and optionally further with (B) a polyfunctional alcohol, a polycarboxylic acid, a polysulphide or a polyphenol.
