PURPOSE:To enable the way to wide use, by forming a polymer layer comprising a homopolymer or copolymer of specific N-alkyl or N-alkylene substituted methacrylamide to the surface of a microcapsule. CONSTITUTION:A polymer layer comprising a homopolymer or copolymer of N-alkyl or N-alkylene substituted methacrylamide represented by formula I (wherein R1 is H or a methyl group, R2 is H, a methyl group or an ethyl group and R3 is a methyl group, an ethy group or a propyl group or formula II [wherein R1 is H or a methyl group, A is (CH2)n, (CH2)2O(CH)2 and, herein n is 4-6] or a copolymer of said amide monomer and other copolymerizable monomer is formed to the surface of a microcapsule to obtain a water-insoluble microcapsule. When the polymer layer formed to the surface of the microcapsule is immersed in water, the polymer absorbs water to form a water-holding gel. |
