The patent application deals with a ceiling holder for sports equipment and other devices in everyday use, in which lifting, lowering and locking of the load at various heights is possible by means of ropes and deflection pulleys. According to the invention, provision is made for two deflection pulleys attached to the ceiling to be allocated to two ropes, for the ropes to be connected to the load at the lower end, and for the top ends of the ropes to be guided via vertically pivotable lugs and combined at a handle. This results in the essential advantages that, apart from a low purchase price and easy operability, virtually no servicing or maintenance is necessary.
