PURPOSE:To directly find out the concentration of chlorine in an electrolyte, by providing an ultraviolet ray penetration part in an electrolyte circuit, irradiating ultraviolet rays upon one side of the part, and receiving the ultraviolet rays on the other side to detect the ultraviolet ray absorption ratio of the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Mutually facing quartz glass windows 11, 11' are provided on both the sides of a part of a circuit 7 for feeding an electrolyte from the electrolyte jar of a battery to its electricity generation part by a pump in a circulator manner, so that the part of the circuit 7 functions as an ultraviolet ray penetration part. Ultraviolet rays are irradiated upon one of the windows 11, 11' of the ultraviolet ray penetration part and received on the other to measure the ultraviolet ray absorption ratio of the electrolyte at the time of discharge of the battery. The concentration of chlorine in the electrolyte is thus found out directly. |
