PURPOSE:To make it possible not only to sanitarily and easily perform the replacement of a cartridge but also to arbitrarily design the outer shape of a water purifier, by setting only the interior of the cartridge to a tap water passage and forming a configuration applying no pressure of tap water to an outer shell. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge 4 has an almost cylindrical form having an inlet at the lower part thereof and an outlet at the upper part thereof and the outlet water guide passage 10 integrally provided to an outer shell 8 is inserted in and engaged with said outlet. Tap water is introduced into the cartridge 4 engaged with a check valve 2 integrally constituted along with a base 1 by a screw 3 from said check valve part 2. The cartridge 4 is packed with activat ed carbon 6 and a flow-diverging plate 5 is positioned at the inlet part so as not to generate a short-circuit stream and a filter such as open cell foamed polyethylene for collecting small dust is positioned at the outlet part. As a result, the cartridge can be sanitarily replaced because only the interior of the cartridge 4 is set to a passage and, because no tap water pressure is applied to the outer shell 8, the shape thereof can be arbitrarily taken.
