<p>PURPOSE:To reduce energy consumption, in a pressure swing process, by allowing a gaseous mixture to flow in an adsorbing tower after evacuation and subsequently allowing the gaseous mixture to flow in the tower under pressure. CONSTITUTION:Air is sucked from an inlet side line 1 to be sent to a dehumidifying and CO2-removing tower 4 under pressure and subsequently enters an adsorbing tower 8 where N2 in air is removed by adsorption while a product O2 is recovered in a tank 3. An adsorbing tower 8' is evacuated by a vacuum pump 16 and an adsorbent 9' is regenerated within a short time. Subsequently, the adsorbing tower 8 is reduced in pressure and air is flowed in the adsorbing tower 8' but, at first, a compressor 2 is stopped and a valve 23 is opened to send air into the adsorbing tower 8 from a filter 21 until the internal pressure of said tower 8' reaches atmospheric state and, thereafter, the valve 23 is closed and the compressor 2 is pressurized to allow air to flow in.</p> |
