PURPOSE:To detect torque precisely while relieving a shock without any influence of a thrust that a body to be measured receives during measuring operation by giving a gap to a one-terminal joining part between a transmission member which transmits the torque of the body to be measured and a detecting member supported on a fixing member. CONSTITUTION:When the body 1 to be measured receives turning force, torque is generated in a torsional shaft 2, and consequently a transmission shaft 3 supported rotatably in a bearing is expected to rotate and then abuts on the detecting member inserted while a slight gap is left, thereby generating strain corresponding to the force transmitted to the detecting member 5 from the transmission member. Two strain gauges 6 each, i.e. four gauges in total are stuck on the detecting member 5 symmetrically at 45 deg. to constitute a bridge, whose output is led out through a lead wire 7 to detect the transmitted torque while relieving the shock without any influence of the thrust of the transmission shaft 3. |
